Lovely! All puns and rhymes not withstanding, Andrea Tucker, is a god damned good painter. Tuckers signature treatment is full and
voluminous, her subject matter takes influence from lowbrow, pop,
cartoons, illustrations, and tattoo flash. Her style is her own, and
she is able to imbue her subjects with a strange kind of life.
Tucker's work, at its best, sets the brain up to trip on an infinite
loop; caught between the harsh reality of true life and a
presentation that embodies sweetness and light. This marriage of the
sacred and profane is what first drew me to Tuckers work, and like a
moth to the flame I keep coming back, sometimes I give up the money
and get some.
